Words have power!

In our marriage, Rick takes the award for the best encourager. He’s generally very positive and naturally uses his words to build others up. I love being the recipient of that in our marriage!

Being careful with our words is not only smart – it’s wise. It’s easy to carelessly let words roll off our tongues – words of criticism and disrespect that leave your partner feeling hurt.

“Life and death is in the power of the tongue,” is a great quote from the bible that always reminds me that our words have enormous power. We have the power to breathe life into our partner’s world, causing them to feel empowered and strong, or crush them in an instant.

So, next time you’re about to blurt out something that you may regret, take a few moments first and…

✔️ STOPIf you’re angry or upset, Stop! Take responsibility for your own emotions first.

✔️ CONSIDERThink about the consequences of your words, and consider if you have the timing right. An honest conversation at the right time can have a great outcome.

✔️ CHOOSE – Make a decision based on whether it will build up your partner or tear them down and choose wisely.

From the words of my mother – “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Great advice mum 😍

💥 CHOOSE THREE THINGS that you love about your partner today and text, email, or tell them.

Have a great week!
